Koischwitz, vormals : Gebrüder Koischwitz.
Vielfach an uns gerichteten Anfragen entsprechend gestatten wir uns
hierdurch. dem verehrlichen Publikum von Lodz und Umgegend die ganz
ergebene Mitteilung zu machen, dass unser, seit mehr als zwölf Jahren
bestehendes Geschäft sich nach wie vor nur Dzielnastrasse 44 - Parterre,
vis-à-vis dem Bahngarten, befindet.
Daselbst werden auch sämtliche Aufträge für Stimmungen, Reparaturen,
Aufpolierungen, Transporte und Verpackungen, überhaupt alle in unser
Fach einschlagende Arbeiten entgegengenommen, und unter persönlicher
Leitung der Herrn Richard und Max Koischwitz ausgeführt. Auch machen wir
noch ganz besonders darauf aufmerksam, dass sämtliche Stimmungen nicht
von einem Angestellten, sondern von unserem Herrn Richard Koischwitz
persönlich erledigt werden, und ist somit für saubere und fachgemässe
Ausführung eine gute Gewähr geleistet. Gleichzeitig erlauben wir uns,
das verehrliche Publikum auf eine neue Erfindung aufmerksam zu machen,
welche berufen ist, auf dem Gebiete der Pianoforte-Industrie eine grosse
Rolle zu spielen, und zwar handelt es sich um eine neue
Repetitionsmechanik, mit welcher unsere Pianinos ausgestattet sind.
Diese Mechanik hat bei leichter, elastischer Spielart den bei einer
Pianinomechanik früheren Systems bis jetzt nicht dagewesenen Vorzug
einer
unbegrenzten Repetitionsfähigkeit, welche der einer erstklassigen
Flügelmechanik in keiner Weise nachsteht. -
Zum Schluss weisen wir noch auf eine Neuerung hin, welche wir vor Kurzem
getroffen haben. Um jedermann die Anschaffung eines guten Pianinos zu
ermöglichen, haben wir die Fabrikation eines billigen Special-Pianinos
Modell No IV aufgenommen. - Dieses Pianino ist ebenfalls kreuzsaitig,
nach amerikanischem Panzersystem aus solidem Material konstruirt und
zeichnet sich sowohl durch einfache, aber geschmackvolle Ausstattung,
als auch durch edlen, gesangreichen Ton aus.
Infolge äusserst günstiger Abschlüsse mit unseren Lieferanten sind wir
in der Lage, dieses Pianino mit Rbl. 290 - abgeben zu können.
Gleichzeitig empfehlen wir Ihnen unser reichhaltiges Lager von Pianinos
in schwarz und Nussbaum-Ausführung in jeder gewünschten Preislage. Auch
werden Pianinos auf Bestellung in jeder Holz- und Stilart angefertigt.
Da wir als langjährige Fachleute und Specialisten den Ruf bei unseren
werten Abnehmern erworben haben, dass unsere Pianinos dem ausländischen
Fabrikat, was Ton Ausstattung und Dauerhaftigkeit anbetrifft, ebenbürtig
zur Seite gestellt werden können, so sind wir im voraus überzeugt, bei
einem etwaigen Auftrage Ihrerseits Ihre volle Zufriedenheit zu erwerben

"In particular, the grand pianofortes of
Kuhlbörs d. Senior Citizen. (there are two of this name) are very
popular in Breslau, and quite rightly, for they have an excellent mode
of play, a very lovely tone, a solid mechanism, and an elegant exterior.
But there are many mediocre instruments too. Pianofortes and tabular [?]
pianofortes are little loved, and are found only among country priests,
tenants and craftsmen. It is inconceivable to me, where all the old
instruments, (grand pianoforte, pianoforte, royal harpsichords, and so
on) remain. They are not smashed, though, so many things may be
exhausted to the rumble chamber. Many of the old harpsichords are also
metamorphosed in the artist's workshop to the pianoforte."

von Kuhlbörs d. ält. (es giebt zwey dieses Namens) in Breslau sehr
beliebt, und mit vollem Recht, denn sie haben eine vortreffliche
Spielart, einen sehr lieblichen Ton, einen soliden Mechanismus und ein
elegantes Aeussere. Doch kömmt auch manches mittelmässige Instrument mit
unter vor. Klaviere und tafelförmige Pianof. werden wenig geliebt und
finden sich nur bey Landpfarrern, Pächtern und Handwerkern. Es ist mir
unbegreiflich, wo alle alten Instrumente, (Flügel, Klaviere, Clavecin
royal u. s. w.) bleiben? Zerschlagen werden sie doch gerade nicht, also
mag wol manches auf die Rumpelkammer exilirt werden. Mancher alte Flügel
kömmt auch wol aus der Werkstatt des Künstlers zum Pianoforte
metamorphosirt, wieder zum Vorschein (Ich kann diese Materie nicht
verlassen, ohne der vorzüglichen beyden Bogenflügel zu erwähnen, welche
Hr, Mechanikus Garbrecht, in Verbindung mit dem gleichfalls sehr
geschickten Mechaniker, Hrn. Prediger Wasianski, erbauet hat, Den einen
davon besass vor mehreren Jahren dieser letzte, (ob noch, weiss ich
nicht.) wo der andere jetzt ist, ist mir nicht bekannt. Unter allen
Versuchen, die man gemacht hat, dieses viel versprechende Instrument zu
einer gewissen Vollkommenheit zu bringen, verdienen diese gewiss eine
der ersten Stellen, denn sie leisteten sehr viel.)"

"Küntzel (Lorenz), K.
Hof-Instrumentenmacher zu Berlin. Geboren zu Hof den 28. April 1789,
arbeitete Anfangs in der Werkstatt des Flügel-Fabrikanten Rosenkranz zu
Dresden, dann bei Streicher in Wien, bereiste hierauf Italien, erlernte bei
Zesserini den Violinbau und erwarb sich dort gründliche Kenntnisse der
Mensurverhältnisse und der zu Streich-Instrumenten brauchbaren Holzarten.
Nachdem er später noch bei Stirnard in Prag, und Fichtel in Breslau
gearbeitet, gründete er an dem letztgenannten Orte eine Werkstatt, die sich
bald eines solchen Rufes erfreute, dass Paganini 1829, als er in Breslau
anwesend war, ihm sein Instrument zur Reparatur übergab und überhaupt seinen
Instrumenten ein vortheilhaftes Zeugniss ausstellte; für ein dem damaligen
Kronprinzen übersandtes Instrument erhielt er das Patent eines K.
Hof-Instrumentenmachers. Auf einer Geschäftsreise nach Olmütz führte ihm der
Zufall ein Stück Abornholz und in Florenz ein Stück Fichtenholz von seltener
Schönheit und von einem Alter von 150 Jahren zu, und es entstand der Gedanke
in ihm, ein Quintett, bestehend aus 2 Violinen, 2 Violen und einem
Violoncell, daraus zu bauen. Küntzel vollendete dies Werk in den Jahren
1833—57, es kam zur Breslauer Industrie-Ausstellung, ward daselbst 1858 in
einer Matinée öffentlich zur Probe gespielt und fand besonders wegen seiner
übereinstimmenden Klangfarbe grossen Beifall. Nach 28 jährigem Aufenthalte
zu Breslau, verlegte er sein Domicil nach Berlin. Kurz vorher ward er mit
dem Major Reich, einem Instrumentenkenner, bekannt, und Beide fassten den
Gedanken, gemeinschaftlich ein Lehrbuch über den Saiten - Instrumentenbau zu
schreiben, worin besonders die Mensurverhältnisse nach Küntzel's Angabe mit
Hülfe mathematischer Berechnungen in ein System gebracht werden sollten.
